The Chargebacks911 Story

I’ve been an entrepreneur for more than two decades. I launched — and then sold — my first business back when I was still just a teenager. However, the launch of Chargebacks911 in 2011 represented a major shift in my life. I couldn’t know it then, but that moment marked the point at which I began following the path that would lead me to a position of global leadership in financial technology.

Why Did I Launch Chargebacks911?

You might be surprised to learn that my background is not in banking, payments, or any related field. In fact, as I alluded to above, I had nothing to do with the financial sector. Before Cb911, I was an eCommerce merchant.

I’d spent several years of my life — along with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears — building my business. Out of nowhere, though, my revenue started to melt away under an onslaught of chargebacks.

I needed a solution to prevent these disputes and recover my revenue, and I needed it fast. So, I started shopping around for a service that could take this burden off my back. But, after considering every available provider, I reached a very frustrating — terrifying, if I’m being honest — conclusion. There simply wasn’t a good solution on the market that was built around the merchant’s perspective.

Scary as that realization was, I decided to see the lack of a solution as an opportunity, rather than see it as certain doom for my business. And, in 2011, Chargebacks911 was born.

Fast-Forward: What Does Chargebacks911 Look Like Today?

It’s been more than a decade since I launched Chargebacks911. Even now, though, when I survey the market, I still see that the data-driven Cb911 platform is the only tool that can offer real end-to-end management of chargebacks.

Our scalable solutions work for small businesses, as well as enterprise clients. Every year, we help thousands of merchants recover millions of dollars that they would otherwise lose to invalid cardholder claims. We also have the confidence to offer a performance-based ROI guarantee; the industry’s only such guarantee. We do this because we’re assured that our proprietary software suite and host of products will deliver results.

You might think I’m just being showy or overconfident, but it’s not just me saying all this. We’ve been lauded with dozens of honors including Best Chargeback Management Program and Best Industry Solution, among others.

Cb911, along with our UK-based subsidiary Fi911 which we launched back in 2021, was the first company fully dedicated to the problem of chargebacks. We operate in dozens of markets, across scores of currencies, all to protect more than 2.4 billion transactions every year. But, I’m also proud to say that we’re still just getting started!

Leaving a Legacy in Our Community

I pride myself on what my team has accomplished. Their commitment, their innovative thinking, their dedication to their clients… it’s truly inspiring!

That said, while I’m delighted with the culture I’ve been able to foster at Chargebacks911 the real value in what we’re doing is that it allows us to give back to people our community.

The success of Chargebacks911 has allowed me to launch, and to financially support, the Paid for Grades program. This innovative student incentive program rewards participating students at Bay Area high schools for improving grades with cash prizes. In Spring 2023 alone, we handed out nearly $250,000 in prizes!

Paid for Grades isn’t our only philanthropic venture, though. We’re able to help support other local nonprofits through a program we call Take Charge for Charity. For the last several years, we’ve challenged ourselves to make weekly donations to organizations that are working to address needs of people here in Tampa Bay.

At the end of the day, this is what it’s all about: elevating and changing the game in the fintech space, then taking that success and leveraging it to change the world at large!
